Yeny and her family live in Columbia, one of the most violent places on earth, embroiled in civil war with many "armed groups" involved in the fighting. When her family moves to the city, Yeny not only becomes in involved in a kid's movement called the Columbian Children's Movement for Peace, but also learns of her rights as a child.Upon convincing her parents to allow her to join, she becomes passionately involved, participating in a national children's vote for peace.
